What is Lifeline?

Lifeline is a government benefit program that provides discounts on monthly telephone service for eligible low-income consumers to help ensure they have the opportunities and security that telephone service affords.

What are the benefits I can receive?

Qualified consumers can receive $10 off their monthly recurring charges through Family Mobile — $9.25 that is funded by the federal government and $0.75 that is funded directly by Family Mobile. Consumers who properly qualify for Lifeline are also exempted from certain regulatory fee charges. Some consumers may qualify for additional discounts.

How does the program work?

If you live in an area where the Family Mobile Lifeline Discount Program is available and you meet all the requirements to qualify, you will receive a discount on your monthly recurring service charges and other benefits based on the rules for your state directly applied to your service. You will thereafter periodically be asked to validate your continued eligibility.
